You don’t want to hang very wide pictures in narrow hallways, or hang a 4 x 4 inch painting above a huge couch on a large wall. It should not be too large or too small (never more than 75% of the width of the furniture below it). Make sure everything you’re hanging is relative in size to a room and its contents.
