Area rugs are great for both interior design and exterior designs as they offer warmth and cushion to hard surfaces.  To soften a room or outdoor living area or even to simply change the look in a room without swapping out furniture, wall color or accessories, simply throw down a new area rug.

You can choose from a variety of shapes and sizes and depending on the look you are going for you can even use multiple rugs in different colors, textures and patterns.  If you have trouble finding a rug large enough to cover your desired area, you can vary the layout of the room by having the rug anchor into a bigger piece of furniture or you can piece two of the same rugs together and hide the seam with a sofa or go the opposite route and reveal the two separate rugs by giving them a little bit of space between them.  Get creative and don’t be afraid to be bold.
