While we all wish we could step out of our clothes and into those we see in the magazines or on mannequins, it’s not always that easy for the vast majority of us. I’ve always been a big believer in embracing yourself, your body, your mind, your soul and everything that makes you, you. It’s common for us to want to be like everybody else and to fit in, but at the end of the day, do we really want to blend in to the point that you don’t get noticed for the things that make you special?
With young girls especially, the concern is always on body image. I often coach teenage girls about acceptance and how to dress for your size rather than try to be something you’re not. With school starting back up again and homecoming right around the corner, don’t be timid about looking for a plus size homecoming dress. You want to shine in all your glory and sometimes that means going up a size to ensure your profile is seen for all its glory, not that you’re trying to be something or someone other than wonderful, perfect you.
